Patience

I remember, as part of my job, reassuring parents that their baby was normal and every baby developed according to their own timeline. I should repeat this to myself. Louis is continually teaching us to re-examine our expectations. He is only 3 weeks and 3 days old. We just have to accept with patience that he is growing and will figure it out. We can't spoil him at this point, and if we can respond as calmly as possible to his needs, he'll learn that he is loved and cared for, and hopefully that will give him the strength to be his own person in his own time.
