Here's the thing though

I am choosing unconditional love, but I do not and cannot assume you are too. The other part to this is that this love cannot be expected to be reciprocal. The task is to show up even when no one else is or it seems like they won't. Loving without any expectation of return. That is truly difficult, and what I feel is missing from the conventional prescriptions for human development and enlightenment.
